Fulfillment is a term mostly used in E-Commerce, it is an essential part of the process including:  warehousing (storage), inventory control, pick, small assembling, packing and shipping.  A reliable fulfillment process is a key factor for the success of online businesses, it will keep customers happy and will help to build trust in your products. Cross Docking can also be done when unloading merchandise from a truck, palletizing it and loading it again in the same truck, to make delivery to the end customer easier.

Cross-docking is a practice in logistics of unloading materials from a manufacturer or mode of transportation directly to the customer or another mode of transportation, with little or no storage in between.
